BHQ Butterfly
cyberrots break cue
Hi, Brent
I just want to thank you for the great job done on the break cue.
The balance is just about what I like for break cues and the woods which you chose for this cue is really nice.
The break shaft taper is nice and thick, which I really like for my break cues.
Your break cue is currently my number 1 breaker in my collection now.
I let Jhun try the break cue and he was breaking down the racks nicely and effortlessly with this cue. I think he loves the way it breaks as well. ;)
I even took pictures of the cue personally and placed it in my Facebook photo albums to share with my friends.
By the way, do you have a Facebook account? Perhaps I can add you to my Friends list. :)
Thanks once again. Marcel Lim

jersyey jer's bumperless cue
to start lets get the overused lines outa the way 1st.
hits a ton and the pictures just don't do the cue any justice.
now, the cue arrived friday morning wich was perfect since my wife was home so it didnt have to sit
outside all cold and lonley. i only got one small look of disgust from her when i got home so that wasnt
nearly as bad as it could of been.
upon unwrapping the cue the first thing that hit me was the finish. so clean, clear, and shiny, the finish is perfect .
next the wood. through a not-so-disgusted face my wifey actually managed an "oooh thats pretty" reffering to the range in color and figure in the tulip wood. she normally cares about cues as much as i care what drapes she's putting in the kitchen this month. even though these are great pics of the cue
http://bhqcustomcues.com/AVAILABLECUESFORSALE.aspx you just cant get the full effect of the color. nor the grain in the blackwood. also the blackwood in between the the rings looks great but in the pics it just blends into the phenolic. NOT SO. in person its pretty distinct and a great effect. nice choice brent.
now back to friday. horrible day. i had left work at around noon due to an evil EVIL stomach bug. violent. soo violent i was so dehydrated and my ribs are still sore today. so part of the torture was new toy in hand. cant leave house. yeah.
well i finally got out sunday evening for a few racks and took to the cue right away. nice lively feel, had whitey doing whatever i wanted like played with cue for years (doesnt mean i pocketed anything)
overall quality is superb. the execution the fit the finish the materials --all top notch this is a keeper.
(i just dont like the lepro)
jer <---- gonna be needing to add a butterfly to the mix

Picked up my BHQ butterfly from Brent this week. Pics are posted here:
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=135191As usual, the pics don't do it justice. Brent did a great job with fit and finish. He delivered ahead of schedule, and was fun to work with on the design. (Hard to believe that what started out as a gluey hunk of wood slabs could turn out so nice.)
The cue is nicely balanced and has a solid feel. I was curious about the micarta ferrule, but I don't know how to make an accurate comparison given that I don't have any other cues with Tiger dynamite tips. The hit is softer than the cues I usually play, but that's likely to change as the tip is broken in (reminds me of a brand new Sniper). Despite the softer hit, there's still good feedback and, most importantly, predictable performance. Excellent action on the CB when you want it.
Love the cue, and many thanks to Brent for delivering what was promised ahead of time at a great price.

Stephan Burgmeister's butterfly cue
As Brent told me, my butterfly cue was the first he built this way. And I have to tell you it looks really really great. The pics can?t do the cue any justice.
My playing cue has to be a little forward balanced, weight around 19 oz. with a medium stiff hitting shaft.
And this cue has everything in it, which I like!
It plays outstanding. I need little effort to get much spin on the cueball. The feedback is very good. My stroke is not hard and heavy, just soft and slow with a lose grip. And I play the best pool by now with this cue for a long time. My favourite cues were those from Jeff Olney, so this cue can easily compare to Jeffs, in the way it plays.
The finish is perfect, you can?t feel the metal rings or something else. The joint fits perfect too. The shaftwood is almost snow white.
BHQs are one of the best cues out there for the money. And Brent is a great guy to deal with, too. You can?t go wrong with a BHQ.
Brent, thanks a lot for this great looking and even better playing cue!
Regards form Germany,
Stefan

Brent Hartman is a cuemaker that cares about his customers. I'm surprised he hasn't blocked me yet sending him 100s of emails about my cue in progress. He has a heart of gold. Anyone would be lucky to meet him. But from what I seen, he has a lot to learn in the art of pizza making.
Thanks for the compliment Alton. The cue hits like a hammer. I had to gain some muscle before I could use it properly. The finish is awesome too. Brent did a very good job. I'm happy to own two BHQ jump breaks haha. I'm telling Brent to start a line.

Blowfish's first cue from me
"Brent made me a sweet hitter of a cue and a looker as well. Very easy to deal with. Now, patiently waiting for the next cue on order. =)
Good luck and God Bless"
Thanx,

"I've bought countless cues from Brent and every single purchase was rewarding and pleasurable. All the BHQ I've played with thus far hit tremendously well, and the quality of the finishing and cue construction are top notch. I've also never worked with a cuemaker as friendly and replies as promptly as Brent. You won't go wrong with a BHQ."

I have been playing in leagues with Brent for years now, and when I found out he makes cues, we started talking right away.
The three coolest things about my BHQ cue are:
1. It made me a much better shot immediately.
2. Brent made the ferrule from the antler of a deer I shot the year before.
3. It is beautiful.
I am very happy with the cue Brent made me.

the cue hits great, I just got back from the hall and had a wonderful session. Many have said that purple heart makes a great cue and I certainly believe them now. The handle is very dark and has great colour at the same time. My 14 year old took one look at it and said "is that purple ?"
The birdseye is nicely figured and a bit on the dark side when I compare this BHQ to other cues. The finish is flawless, very tasteful ring work, and overall I couldn't be happier.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone, and thanks for a wonderful cue and pleasant buying experience Brent. Keep up the great work.

I have played pool with Brent for many years. His game has developed quite well for the short period of time he has played. As he started producing customized cue’s I became interested in his quality, craftsmanship and creativity. Brent and I play in a Monday night league together. He and I discussed a cue with the length, weight, shaft diameter and wood type. I wanted 2 shafts that were different diameters. Brent knew I wanted a stiff hitting shaft and he suggested a Lyptus shaft. I agreed to a Maple and Lyptus shaft. After the cue and shafts were complete I was very impressed with the finish and balance of the cue. I remember the night he brought it to me.
We were in our Monday night league and I played him the first game.
I broke and ran out with my new cue.
Brent said “Doc, it must be the new cue”.
You can’t go wrong purchasing a BHQ stick.
Just for the record I’ve been kicking his butt in pool ever since. Ha!!

From Bob Watson aka Billiardshot on AZ Billiards
WoW!!!!!!!!! Was my first word after opening Brent package [by the way very well protected package] The finish on this cue Flawless; the cue more beautiful than these pictures on this thread
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpo...20&postcount=1Now I know why Blowfish, My Son, and other love BHQ Cues. And now here my reason:
Flawless finish
Yes, this cue have a foward balance at 19.5" Which I like as it keep the shaft down. I found no added weight in the butt area, just the joint pin which is 3/8'x10 thrd brass. With the balance foward i tend to hold the cue more in the style of Asian Carom Players or as some might say in the Nick Varner position.
The Cue does play stiff, I 'm still looking for the sweet spot, I found the Click and Snap, but not the Thud. Which would make it great for both Pool and 3C game. The ferrule is 1" LBM tip LePro [I normally play with a triangle tip], the shaft taper more of carom or A Dieckman Universal taper, which I like very much.
Overall appearance fantastic. I just love this true Butterfly and the inlay penny. a student of Dieckman ,no more, a master of Dieckman and his Butterfly style, Yes.
Brent Hartman, might just be Dieckman #1 Student, but after shooting with this Cue - He a True CUEMAKER in own Right and Style. Great Cue Brent. If you collect Dieckman's Cue, a BHQ need to be in your Collection. Just ask "Bobby The Mole" a Dieckman friend and Penny cue Collector.
The cue will be a companion to my Dieckman Penny cue and a reminder of
why Brent Will alway be Brent "Burnt Pizza" Hartman in my eye.
Look at these picture and you will see the color of Burnt Pizza and the name I'm giving the cue.
